I received my Ph. D degree majored in software and theory of computer science from the Institute of Computing and Technology at Chinese Academy of Science in 2002. Then, I worked at the National University of Singapore and the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) as research and visiting fellow respectively from 2002 to 2003. I moved to the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in Japan as a research associate from May,2003 to March 2006. I came back China and joined the Tianjin University in May, 2006. Now I am an associate professor of Computer Science, in the School of Computer Science and Technology.
I have published over 20 research papers on the international journals and conferences including IEEE transactions covering data mining, bioinformatics and grid computing. For the list of selected publications, click here.
I am presently the member of UN-GAID eSDDC executive committee and Ex Officio member of Inter-Academy Panel. I am also serving on the reviewer of number of journal s and conferences including Briefings in Bioinformatics, Computer Journal of Chinese, and etc.

We ale drowing in information,but starving for knowledge. Data value-added service is the core of scientific data sharing. Data mining technology has been widely accepted as an essential step to meet this end. However some obstacles to widespread acceptance of data mining technology are existed, for instance, complexity in choosing the right data mining algorithms and setting the right parameters for a data set, data security and privacy-preserving issues in data mining process. BillionGrid has been initiated to address those issues.
Bayesian Theory based Mining on Tissue-Specificity of Gene Expression and Regulatory Networks (ongoing)
Biological tissue is a collection of interconnected cells that perform a similar function within an organism. Modern biotechnology is producing huge volume of tissue specific data sets. Horizontal and vertical analysis of these data sets can disclose the mechanism of gene expression and regulation, and predicate the structure s and functionality of transcription factors. This project is going to address the following issues at tissue level using Bayesian Theory based approach:
Identifying the Housekeeping genes and Tissue Specific (TS) genes based on co-expression patterns
Discovering the TS sequence patterns of promoters of target genes;
Building the TS gene regulatory networks
Promotion Base on Education and Training in Tianjin University for UN GAID e-SDDC
